Objectives
A major operator in the North Sea aimed to plug and abandon a well in a single run. The plan involved setting six separate cement plugs using the Cement Support Tool (CST) as the base for each plug.
The objective was to accomplish this in an 8 ½” open hole with a 90° deviation, covering the depth range from 5,200 meters MD to 3,035 meters MD.
Results
The operation was successfully completed in one run. All six cement plugs were set as planned, and the last plug was tagged with a 10-ton weight on bit at the planned depth.
